of course I can ID both those closers, you have the Norton door check & Spring patented in the united states and the other one with hole near adjustment screw is the Newmann-Tonks version, the hole appears to be maybe form of anti-slam as it appears that when the door shuts, the "face" of the closer is up against the protrusion on the mount bracket
have you tested the spring in either or both of them?? mine works but slams, due to possible wear of inside cylinder or the piston.
may I ask where did you find the Norton?? eBay?? that's where I got mine from,
if you can, can you get any side shots of these, showing the arm and full length of the cylinder?? I would like to see if yours are brass barrel or black, mine is painted black, but often see (in pics) brass barrel.
